The "Kiss" song was written in '86, it was a hit at the time, style - funk.
I wanted to support the mood of this simple unpretentious songs. So I decided that it would be a simple video, built on the dynamics of words and colors.
I also want to maintain the rhythm. I chose relatively simple way to create a video - it is stop motion. This is just the beginning of the project, I was not completely sure in the choice of font. I probably will change it all)
After I did the first few seconds I realized that I need to make all words more contrast in their size, to add more color and more dynamic.

It´s really good! Like the colorful fonts you use. Maybe the vignette around the video could be colorful as well... It dampes a little bit the happy mood. Go on and maybe make something special (off the grid) when he sings *kiss*

ReplyDeleteI think it works well, but I'm missing a little bit more focus on typography. More different sizes, styles – maybe unusual (but better fitting) length of lines to make more contrast between them, maybe you can give the whole song a kind of a structure by making similar sequences in your song. That would be a good way of recognizing what's next. But so far it's very close to the rhythm and meaning of the song, it think this will gone be a great one.

And the style you use is really quite like 80's without losing fashion sense.But,i don't know, maybe you can try different typefaces in different colors but only in "Bold".Is the word"I just need your body" in bold?I think it quite different from the others,or maybe just because this typeface you use gets more word space than others. So,i am not quite sure,try some typeface without too much word space?
ReplyDeleteStella, no, word"I just need your body" the same like others, the same type face and "bold". And I dislike mess in types..I prefer to use one and I really think it's enough.
